Status Update - Commercial Assessments

We are currently working on gathering information from the commercial sector. While our presentation at the commissioners' meeting was well-received, we are now encountering difficulties in accessing the commercial data. Despite the commissioners expressing their support and appreciation for our efforts, our Right-to-Know (RTK) request for the data has resulted in an appeal with the state’s Office of Open Records, with the county solicitor now involved in trying to block access. If the commissioners were as supportive as they suggested, obtaining these records would likely be less challenging.

We encourage you to reach out to the commissioners to request the county’s cooperation with our efforts. Please be sure to remain polite and respectful in all communications, as we are all working toward the same goal: ensuring a fair process.
